The African Association of Accountants General (AAAG)is a capacity building non profit organisation that aspires to build capabilities in the Offices of the Accountants and Directors General who are responsible for budget execution and reporting for their governments. The Association was conceived by the East and Southern African Association of Accountants General (ESAAG), a meeting of Accountants General was organised alongside the Public Finance Management (PFM) forum, in October 2019 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and was accepted by all twenty three Accountants General present.
The African Association of Accountants General pursuant to signing off of the institutive Constitution on 7th July 2023. By intends and purposes, it is a pan African body aimed at promoting professionalism, ethical conduct and technical understanding on matter financial management.
