At the Annual General Meeting held in Maseru Lesotho a resolution was made that the next conference shall be jointly hosted by the Association and the United Republic of Tanzania. The following brief provides an update of the progress achieved so far.
We are delighted to invite you to the 2nd African Association of Accountants General (AAAG) Annual Conference, a landmark event that brings together financial leaders, government officials, and experts in the field of public finance.
Host City
Arusha City has been identified to host the conference. Arusha is in the Northern part of United Republic of Tanzania. It most central city to the neighbouring countries of Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi.
Arusha exhibits a tropical climate for the best parts of the year. The average temperature in Arusha in December for a typical day range from a high of 84°F (29°C) to a low of 63°F (17°C). Some would describe it as pleasantly warm, humid but cool. For comparison, the hottest month in Arusha, October, has days with highs of 87°F (31°C) and lows of 61°F (16°C).
Arusha is served by an international airport that receives flights from all major airlines from Africa, Europe and the Middle East. The following regional airlines service the Arusha Sector: Air Tanzania, Kenya Airways, Ethiopian and Precision Airways. All these have multiple flights per day into Arusha and consequently, transport connectivity is guaranteed.
It hosts the UN International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the Secretariat of the East Africa Community. Consequently, the hotel and hospitality sector is well developed. It has an internationally renowned convention centre and has the capability to host more than three thousand (3,000) delegates.
Arusha’s proximity to Serengeti National Park is yet another factor that enhances the appeal of the City of Arusha. It is indeed a good pick for the next AAAG Conference.
